Many of those who planned on participating at COP28 joined their compatriots and went to serve in the IDF to protect their country. But for other Israelis, COP28 was simply not a safe place to be. 

Digital nomads from North America and Europe attracted by the UAE's flexible work visa are following on the heels of a wave of Russian buyers, leading Dubai to notch up another banner year.

“Israel can and must be part of the global dialogue and the worldwide struggle against the climate crisis,” said Environmental Protection Ministry Director-General Guy Samet.

The architect posted another strange video of herself walking through the streets of Dubai.

"The climate crisis does not disappear even in these complex days when Israel is fighting on the battlefield," said Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman.

According to the official schedule, the president is meant to deliver the country’s national statement on Friday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. before heading back to Israel. 

Israeli companies have only openly participated in UAE exhibitions and conferences since 2020, when the Gulf Arab power and Israel established ties under a US-brokered agreement.

With government policies aimed at attracting international companies, Dubai has been experiencing a wave of interest in commercial properties, and the demand is only expected to grow
