Graham, one of Trump's closest allies in the Senate, died over the weekend after a brief illness.

Graham died Saturday, aged 71, following what his office described as a “brief and sudden illness.” His office did not immediately disclose an official cause of death.  

"As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time... And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet," said US Senator Mitch McConnell.

With Graham dead, McConnell still in the hospital, and midterms approaching, it looks like the Republicans' supermajority in Congress could shift.

Trump’s revival of anti-communist rhetoric echoes McCarthyism as Republicans battle fears of losing control of Congress.

“The prime minister of Israel has failed,” Rep. Haley Stevens said when asked about Iran, saying that both Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump had failed to achieve “long-term peace."

Additionally, McConnell's wife departed for a series of diplomatic and philanthropic events in China just three days after his hospitalization and is still abroad.

The Washington Free Beacon poll found GOP primary voters favored candidates who support Israel and denounce antisemitism, while prioritizing the economy and immigration.

Israel is losing both large parties, but there is still hope for the underrepresented pragmatic center.
