The recent unrest spreading in the Arab world is akin to Israel living “near a volcano,” Maj.-Gen. (Res.) Yaakov Amidror, the newly appointed head of Israel's National Security Institute, recently told Inside Israel.“We are living near a volcano, and we don't know when this volcano will erupt,” said Amidror. “In any negotiation berween us and the Palestinians and others, we should insist on a very careful, cautious, strict security attangement.”
