New apartments sales between May and August this year fell 12.1 percent compared with the period between January to April due to the hostilities in the North, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Sunday.
During the month of August 2006, 970 new apartments were sold, of which 35.2% were located in the center of the country; about 32.5% were in Tel Aviv, while only 11% of the apartments sold were in Haifa and 2.5% in other northern parts of the country.
