3-year-old hit by van at pre-school dies after struggle

A 3-year-old toddler who was hit by a transport van outside his pre-school in Tel Aviv, succumbed to his wounds at Ichilov Hospital on Thursday.

Investigators have said that the child, who was already at pre-school, stepped outside of the unlocked school gates and was hit by the transport van on Thursday morning. He sustained critical wounds and was taken to Ichilov where doctors pronounced him dead after an hours long struggle to save his life.

Police believe the child was hit accidentally by the pre-school head's husband. The driver and his wife were under investigation for negligence.
