Nine pro-Gaza activists were killed and 40 wounded during the boarding of the Mavi Marmara by Navy commandos.  Five of the IDF soldiers wounded during the boarding of the ship, remain in hospital, two of them are described as in serious condition. 

The ship was part of the Gaza flotilla and the soldiers came under attack from the hundreds of, mainly Turkish members of the NGO IHH, while attempting to board it.
