Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is not opposed to Jewish NATO soldiers guarding the borders of a future Palestinian state, his political adviser Nimar Hamad said Saturday.

The statement came in response to previous reports to the contrary. In a statement to Palestinian news agency Wafa, Abbas added that he was open to soldiers of any religion or place of origin protecting a future state's borders.
