Algeria denounces Syrian violence, calls for urgent reform

Algeria denounced Wednesday the violence in Syria, calling for reforms from the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad and an open national dialogue, Egyptian newspaper Al Youm As Sabaa quoted Algerian Foreign Minister Omar Balani as saying.

"Today we had no choice but to condmen the violence," Balani said, calling on Syria to "implement the political reforms that the Syrian authorities announced for maintaining security and stabilizing the Syrian nation, an important regional player," Al Youm As Sabaa reported.
