Defense Minister Ehud Barak toured the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp on Thursday, and upon completion of a ceremony in memory of those killed, wrote a message: "To remember and not forget. To rely on ourselves and only on ourselves. A strong Israel is both comfort and vengeance for all those killed. Auschwitz - never again." On Thursday evening, Barak will visit the Warsaw Ghetto area and lead a remembrance ceremony for those who perished. He will be accompanied by IDF soldiers and officers who traveled to the camps as part of the Witness in Uniform project.
