Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday praised Pinchas Wallerstein, chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip (Yesha), for condemning soldiers who displayed a sign pledging never to help evacuate the Samaria settlement of Homesh. Two Kfir Brigade soldiers, who held the sign during their swearing-in ceremony at the Western Wall last week, were sentenced on Sunday to 20 days military incarceration and were forbidden from serving in combat roles. "I regard the soldiers' actions at the Western Wall with severity, but the harsh criticism voiced by Wallerstein is the right voice of the settlers in Judea and Samaria," Barak said in a statement.
