Chomsky declares two-state solution only 'sensible' option

Noam Chomsky, a prominent Jewish-US academic, author and linguist said on Saturday it is "not sensible" to push for anything other than a two-state solution.

Speaking as the guest speaker at the Islamic University of Gaza's first international conference on applied linguistics and literature, Chomsky commented on US foreign policy, stating the "two-state solution is more realistic than a one-state solution, in spite of continued settlement expansion."

He added that there was "almost unanimous international support for the two state solution," and that it's "not sensible" to press for something nobody [else] supports.
