Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez Merizalde arrived in Israel Wednesday morning on an official three-day visit.

Merizalde will meet President Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer and Deputy Knesset Speaker Ruhama Avraham, as well as other senior officials.

The Foreign Ministry said discussions were expected to focus on bilateral relations, the peace process and regional issues. The Colombian foreign minister was also planning to tour the Old City of Jerusalem, visit Yad Vashem and lay a wreath on Mt. Herzl.
