The Israel Police's elite Counter-Terrorism Unit was visited by President Shimon Peres on Thursday.

During the visit, fighters from the unit told the president that they would "not hesitate to risk our lives for the freedom of [abducted IDF soldier Gilad] Schalit]." Peres was shown a training drill in which the unit's fighters took control of a building filled with "terrorists" holding hostages.

Snipers, K-9 units and advanced weaponry were also put on display for the president.
