Director-General of the Ministry of Education Dalit Stauber announced her resignation on Sunday after 35 years in the position., Her resignation will go into effect on October 31rst.

“After smoothly opening the new school year, passing the budget and initiating necessary steps in order to implement the policy of Minister of Education Shai Piron, I feel that this is the time to hand over the management of the ministry,”  she said in a statement.

Stauber thanked Piron for his “trust and cooperation”, and added that she is “grateful for the opportunity to contribute to shaping Israeli society” through education. 

"Dalit led the ministry with remarkable achievements and left her mark on the education system,” Piron said on Sunday, “I wish her many more years of working and contributing to society in Israel.
