Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria Danny Dayan called on the IDF to carry out a thorough and transparent investigation into the shooting death of Rabbi Dan Mertzbach by an IDF soldier in the West Bank on Friday.

Dayan said in a statement that the proper lessons could be learned from such an investigation.

"Even in these days of sadness and grief, we don't forget that the IDF and the settlement movement are two arms of the same mission," Dayan stated.
