Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad met Wednesday with Andreas Ias, the Dutch activist filmed being hit in the face with an M16 rifle by an IDF officer over the weekend, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.
Fayyad condemned Lt.-Col. Shalom Eisner's striking of the activist and Israel's "continuous violations" against foreign activists, according to the report.
"When we talk about Israeli violations against our people, we won't forget the attack on Andreas, who arrived in solidarity, nor the Israeli and international campaign to play down the attack," Ma'an quoted Fayyad as saying.
