French Foreign Minister, Michèle Alliot-Marie, visited kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit's parents at their tent in Jerusalem, Israel Radio reported Thursday.

Alliot-Marie added that it is the European Union's responsibility to condemn war crimes committed by Hamas. She promised to raise the topic at her upcoming meeting with EU Foreign Minister Catherine Ashton, and said that France and Germany will co-operate in dealing with the issue.

Gilad Schalit holds duel French and Israeli citizenship.
