Friedman to PM: You're becoming Mubarak of peace process

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman equated Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to ex-Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, saying that Netanyahu doubts the newly reconciled Palestinian leadership just as Mubarak refused to believe that the Egyptian populace was capable of rising up out of their "low expectations."

Friedman called Netanyahu's government "ossified, unimaginative, and oxygen deprived," saying the prime minister's speech before congress offered nothing new and simply rehashed old policy.

The columnist warned Netanyahu not to put off peace making efforts until it was too late, making an analogy again to Mubarak's vain attempts to implement reform in the final six days of his rule.
