George W. Bush: Must support 'freedom lovers' in Syria

Former US President George W. Bush called for supporting "the people in Syria" in seeking freedom on the sidelines of a conference at the Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday.

The conference's was held to honor "freedom lovers who show enormous courage" to pursue living in a free society.

Bush said that when he "thinks about freedom, I think about the people in Syria. Our hearts are with you. You're showing great courage, and I ask that the almighty bless you."

The event coincided with the Bush Center's launch of a new online Freedom Collection, an interactive website relating to freedom movements.
