Gov't to discuss bringing 8,000 Falash Mura from Ethiopia

The government was scheduled to meet Sunday morning to discuss a proposal to bring 8,000 Falash Mura from Ethiopia to Israel.

According to Interior Minister Eli Yishai, all of those who are considered Jewish will be brought to Israel within three years, Army Radio reported on Sunday. After the three years, no more requests to make Aliya from Ethiopia will be permitted.Head of the Jewish Agency's Aliya and Absorption Division Eli Cohen on Sunday told Israel Radio that if the proposal is approved by the government, that 200 people will be brought to Israel every month.
