Greece, France hold immigration talks

ATHENS, Greece — France's interior minister is in Greece for talks on the country's illegal immigrant trafficking crisis.

Brice Hortefeux met Greek Public Order Minister Christos Papoutsis Thursday morning, as Athens seeks assistance from other European Union countries in dealing with illegal immigration.

Greece is the EU's busiest transit point for illegal immigration, with figures showing about 90 percent of immigrants caught entering the bloc illegally are caught in Greece. The country is planning to build a fence along a section of its northeastern border with Turkey to try to combat the problem.
