Haifa University on Wednesday canceled a planned Arab students-sponsored event to mark Nakba Day, or the day of the Catastrophe, which refers to their loss to Israel in 1948.
The University's administration told Army Radio that the students involved had initially just requested approval to perform a play, which was approved.
Only later the administration learned that the true plan was to hold a Nakba-focused event.
In response, the administration canceled the event.
