Hamas on Wednesday welcomed Egypt's decision to open the Rafah crossing by the end of the week.

The group said in a statement that the decision "reflects the spirit of the Egyptian revolution and the depth of brotherhood between the two peoples," and that the move is intended to "break the blockade on Gaza."
