Heat wave leads to record electricity use

A heat wave has led to all-time record electricity use, the Israel Electricity Corporation announced on Monday.
At about 15:00 on Monday, Israel's electricity consumption reached 10,600 megawatt, breaking the previous record of 10,200 megawatt from 30 January 2008.   10,050 of the megawatts were provided by the IEC and the rest were supplied by private companies.
The IEC said its total electricity generation capacity stands at 10,800 megawatt.
