Allies of Welfare Minister Isaac Herzog stepped up the battle for the chairmanship of the Labor Party Sunday when they submitted a letter demanding that the party’s council be convened to advance primaries.
The call to advance primaries in an attempt to replace current Labor Chairman Defense Minister Ehud Barak was signed by 600 Labor Party delegates. Barak, who will be overseas until Thursday, hopes to delay the primaries as long as possible.
