Hillel launched on Friday a national “Day of Service” that focused this year on the Mount Carmel region, which was severely affected by the December fires, Hillel Israel announced on Thursday.Throughout the day, members of Hillel Israel’s eight centers mobilized university students from across the country to evacuate debris from the area and assist in rebuilding infrastructure there, in a joint effort with Jewish National Fund/Keren Kayemet Leyisrael, Hillel said in a statement.Gaza humanitarian aid port will be up and running by the weekend
