IBA opens 'Quiet Shabbat Frequency' for religious Israelis

The Israel Broadcasting Authority on Friday announced that it would open a 'Quiet Shabbat Frequency' - 531 AM - after an uncontrolled forest fire in the Carmel claimed over 40 lives.
"The frequency will only broadcast emergency instructions and the like and will be silent otherwise; thus, Shabbat-observant Israelis may leave their radios tuned to it over Shabbat," the IBA said in a statement.
