The IDF believes that a Syrian mortar shell exploded on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights on Monday night.
The assessment came after a unit on the border heard mortar fire nearby, and searches began in the area.
Accidental fire from the Syrian civil war has fallen in Israeli territory a number of times in recent years, often prompting IDF artillery fire in response.
