IDF cancels reserve training due to budgetary constraints

The IDF canceled a scheduled combat reserves training due to budgetary constraints, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.

Responding to the report, an IDF spokesman said the army is choosing its activities in accordance with its budget, and doing all it can to prevent harming the quality of its operations and military preparedness.

Several of the reservists, who were first called to duty and subsequently informed of the cancellation, complained that they felt like pawns in the budgetary struggle between the Defense Ministry and Finance Ministry.
