The IDF caught a group of suspected drug smugglers seeking to cross the Egyptian border on Saturday, killing one and injuring four others. The injured were brought to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva and will be interrogated later by security forces.

The IDF claimed that the soldiers fired upon the group after first attempting to arrest them and firing warning shots, according to an Israel Radio report.

None of the soldiers were injured.
