Israel has agreed not to renew its detention order for Palestinian parliament speaker and Hamas member Aziz Dweik, Dweik's lawyer told the media late Monday.

Dweik's lawyer said Israel had agreed to his request that Dweik's six-month administrative detention order not be renewed.

A spokeswoman for the Israel Prison Services said she was checking the report.

Dweik was detained at an Israeli army checkpoint between Ramallah and Jerusalem in January. A military court then ordered his administrative detention for six-months without charge.
