Kidnapped Turkish engineer freed in Afghanistan

ISTANBUL  — Turkey said a Turkish engineer who was kidnapped last year in Afghanistan has been released.

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Sunday confirmed the release of Coskun Caloglu but gave no other details.Turkish media said Caloglu was kidnapped in May or June in the southwestern province of Nimroz. NTV television reported that he is currently at the Turkish embassy in Kabul.
