Lebanese villagers attack UN peacekeeping patrol

Villagers in southern Lebanon took weapons from UN peacekeepers and threw eggs and stones at their patrol on Saturday, Reuters reported.

The incident occurred after a UNIFIL patrol arrested a youth who had been part of an argument in the village of Kabrikha.  When they they took him to a neighboring town, angry residents surrounded their patrol and took their weapons.Lebanese army forces came to the UN peacekeeper's aid, retrieving their weapons and releasing the arrested youth.
