Lifeguards discover body of missing boy in Ashkelon beach

The body of 10-year-old boy Lior Avtah was discovered near Ashkelon Beach on Wednesday, after he went missing last Saturday, Army Radio reported.

Lifeguards spotted the body in the beach in the morning hours, alerting coast police who arrived on the scene and recovered Avtah's body from the water.

Police transferred Avtah to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for official identification, according to the report.
