Kadima MK Avi Dichter withdrew his candidacy from the Kadima leadership race on Thursday, but announced that he would support Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Shaul Mofaz.

Dichter has been under pressure to quit from the two main candidates in the race, opposition leader Tzipi Livni and Knesset Foreign Affairs and Mofaz.

Polls have shown Dichter to be the underdog in the race, lagging far behind the other two candidates.
