"America is here," MK Nahman Shai (Kadima) said in response to an OECD report released Monday that placed income equality levels in Israel among the highest in the developed world, alongside the United States.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's prediction has come true, "America is here" Shai said.

"But instead of creating a liberal democratic society, open, tolerant and multi-cultural," he added, "Israel is copying from the United States its piggish capitalism, its (market) concentration, the merciless economic regime and the growing gaps between rich and poor."
