Opposition leader Shaul Mofaz attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday, saying he has failed in his responsibility to the people of Israel.

"A responsible state does not create a budget deficit and does not isolate Israel from the world when facing the Iranian threat," Mofaz said, speaking at the opening of the 18th Knesset's winter session.

"Instead of strengthening the strategic ties with the US, Netanyahu's government weakened them," Mofaz added.

Mofaz asserted that life in Israel worsened in the past four years, and accused Netanyahu of bringing Israel to a state of weakness, division, poverty and fear.
