With prosperity comes socioeconomic problems that Israel must confront, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday at a special Knesset session to commemorate Zionist leader and Likud inspiration Zeev Jabotinsky.
"When the state was founded in 1948, the quality of life wasn't higher than surrounding the states," Netanyahu said. "Since then we've flourished. We've become a technological superpower.
"But, as the Knesset Speaker said, with prosperity comes socioeconomic problems that the state must address," the prime minister said.
