In a special announcement made in lieu of Holocaust Memorial Day, President Barack Obama stressed that the fight against racism and anti-Semitism must persevere. "The Holocaust serves as a reminder for the need to prevent genocide and to fight anti-Semitism," he said.

Obama continued to say that the memory of the lost lives is a modern-day reminder that the Jewish tragedy continues today, and that the fight against anti-Semitism isn't over.
