Obama says deficit-cut plan to be 'ambitious'

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama said on Thursday a deficit-reduction plan he will introduce in coming days will be ambitious and make "modest adjustments" to the government's Medicaid and Medicare health insurance plans.
He also said in the text of his speech on jobs and the economy that he will offer ideas to reform the US tax code.
