Obama suspects Yemini al-Qaeda group behind terror attempt

US President Barack Obama said Friday that investigators suspected that an al-Qaeda-affiliated group in Yemen was behind an attempted terror attack on Jewish synagogues in Chicago.

"Although we are still pursuing all the facts, we do know that the packages originated in Yemen. We also know that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a terrorist group based in Yemen, continues to plan attacks against our homeland, our citizens, and our friends and allies," said Obama in a statement released by the White House.
