A 28-year-old man is dead following a fatal shooting incident in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber, MDA spokesperson said Friday evening.

"MDA services arrived at the scene and provided life-saving medical treatment to the wounded individual," according to the spokesperson.

"The individual was then transferred to Hadassah-University Medical Center in Jerusalem's Ein Kerem with a gunshot wounds to his upper body," MDA added.

Police later said that the victim succumbed to wounds due to the severity of their injury.

Police added that they have opened an investigation into motive behind the incident.
