OurCrowd leads in VC fund-raising

With its Wednesday announcement that it closed funding for its 18th round, hybrid venture-capital crowd funding platform OurCrowd took a worldwide fund-raising lead.

“Passing this funding milestone makes OurCrowd this year’s fastest growing vehicle for angels and accredited investors to find and back early-stage companies online,” Our- Crowd CEO Jon Medved said. “From our roots in Israel we have actually taken the global lead in funds raised.”

The latest deal, for a company called Zula, pushed the total OurCrowd’s has raised for early-stage companies above $12 million. OurCrowd previously raised $5.5m. in funding for its own platform in February.
