The Palestinian Authority tried its best to prevent Israel's joining the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday at a Likud party meeting.

"Israel strives for peace, we removed checkpoints in the West Bank, improved the [Palestinians'] quality of life and are constantly working to help the development of the Palestinian economy, yet the Palestinians oppose expanding economic improvements and take steps that in the end hurt themselves," said Netanyahu.
