Three West Bank Palestinian women hope to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest straw tray ever with a project they have worked on for two years, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported on Tuesday.

Rose Hamed, the originator of the plan, from a village near Ramallah, said the tray is already the biggest in Palestinian history with a lid close to five meters wide.

The women hope the tray will be displayed at the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, where it can be sold, with proceeds going to Palestinian prisoners in Israel.
