Labor party candidate Amir Peretz said Thursday that the Palestinian maneuver for statehood at the UN bid is "proof beyond doubt of the failure of the policies of [Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu] and (Foreign Minister Avigdor) Liberman."

Peretz added that Israeli leaders should have negotiated with Abbas for a two-state solution, and called on voters to count on the Labor party to "raise the banner of peace" with the Palestinians.
