Plane lands safely near Eilat after declaring emergency

An "Arkia" plane leaving from Eilat and destined for Ben Gurion airport, declared a state of emergency after experiencing engine trouble, Channel 10 news reported on Sunday.
Expecting a catastrophe, Magen David Adom officials prepared for an MCI (Mass Casualty Incident), and rushed to a near-by Israeli Air Force base where the aircraft received special permission to emergency land.
Thankfully the aircraft successfully landed without incident, and all 79 passengers aboard were reported in good condition, as soldiers on the base provided them with water following the landing, the report said.
Afterward, the passengers continued to Ben Gurion airport via special transport.
