Police on Thursday denied reports that police chief Insp.-Gen. Yochanan Danino had his security detail increased in the midst of settler violence in recent days.

Security was stepped up on Danino in recent days in response to a State Comptroller report in recent weeks that said his security was insufficient in general.

The report called for more stringent security. Police emphasized that the timing of the security was not related to "price tag" attacks.
