Police search Turkish dissident website office

ANKARA, Turkey — A lawyer says police are searching the premises of a dissident news website over possible links to an alleged secularist network accused of conspiring to topple the government.
Serkan Gunel says police raided the headquarters of the Oda TV website as well as the homes of its owner, journalist Soner Yalcin, and three of his colleagues Monday. The four were expected to be detained for questioning.
Reports say the raids came hours after Oda TV posted videos that allegedly discredit police investigating the network. The website could not be accessed Monday.
Some 400 people, including politicians, retired military officers and journalists are currently on trial on charges of plotting against the government. Critics say the government is trying to silence opponents.
