The remand of a 77-year-old man accused of stabbing his wife to death was extended seven days by Haifa Magistrate's Court on Friday.

The man, Michael Gerber, told police after his 74-year-old wife's alleged murder that she had made his life miserable for a number of years.

The couple had been married for 18 years.
